My Story

When asked to “tell me about yourself,” my first and most instinctive reply is, “I am a traveler.” I was born into a multi-national family with a Danish mother and German father who placed heavy importance on frequent personal connection with their foreign homes, immersion in their native customs, and mastery of their mother tongues. Having the good fortune to travel annually to Europe since birth helped ignite a wanderlust in me at an early age.

As a college graduate, I embarked on a 3-month solo European backpacking adventure, covering much new ground. From then on, I maxed out my vacation time, travelling to Australia, Mexico, Canada, Fiji and more European destinations before setting my sights on living abroad.

Three years living in The Netherlands later, I started a family, but vowed to my husband that we would enrich our children with the real learning that comes from getting out of your comfort zone. Over the past 18 years, I have led my family of five on countless journeys to new horizons, continuing to fuel my passion for experiencing other cultures. Spurred to shake things up again, I transplanted all of us to Denmark for two more years of living abroad, rich with opportunities for further travel.

Every step of the way, I have wished to enable others to have these same kinds of life-altering experiences that travel provides, as I believe it is our best bet for greater understanding and peace among us.
